The Color Run is an untimed 5K that focuses on having fun with explosions of color while also giving back. The vibrant event visits over 30 cities across the US, and has donated more than $5 million dollars by working with local charities in each community to further support their good work.
In 2018, Darrell Lea partnered with The Color Run to create the #bestdayever – a fun, interactive, social media and on-site experience to support runners of the NYC 5K. We engaged with runners leading up to the event through Facebook and Instagram by hosting a series of 10 giveaways valued at no less than $300 each. Giveaways included a Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer, Series 3 Apple watch, KitchenAid mixer, $300 gift cards to World Market, Sephora, and Target, a Date Night Prize Pack, Allbirds runners with Jaybird Bluetooth Headphones, all paired with Darrell Lea goodies and swag!
The giveaways led up to the Grand Prize – a chance to win a trip for 2 to NYC, complete with airfare and hotel – to join in on The Color Run fun with Darrell Lea! We had a colorful, interactive space with a Matt Crump designed wall for photo-ops – especially after runners were decked out in body paint, and had their fix of delicious Darrell Lea liquorice samples!
With 2019 runs fast approaching, we are looking forward to ramping up our partnership with The Color Run, expanding it to even more cities. We hope to see you in your city for another fun and colorful #bestdayever with Darrell Lea!
